Sizes
PVC-U boxes run 106 × 106 × 67mm, 155 × 155 × 92mm and 230 × 230 × 82mm. ABS boxes run 110 × 110 × 74mm, 150 × 150 × 80mm and 200 × 200 × 80mm. Larger LSF patterns extend to 280 × 210 × 74mm and 380 × 280 × 90mm.
IP65 or IP66
IP65 is dust tight and protected against water jets; IP66 against powerful water jets. For external routes, plant rooms, car parks and wash-down areas in the UAE, specify IP66 and take care that the gland entries match the rating — the box rating means nothing if the entries are drilled and left open.
PVC-U or ABS
ABS has the better impact resistance and is the usual choice where knocks are likely. PVC-U is the volume option and matches the rest of the conduit system in material and appearance.
